Watch Your Back! Household Hip-Hinging

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to start by saying I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe out there and that all of us at Active Living cannot wait to get back to work and start seeing you again!

Today's post is a follow up of sorts to my last blog post, which was about mastering the art of hip hinging using the broom stick drill.

The following series of photo's demonstrate both poor form and then more optimal form using a hip hinge while doing a variety of household tasks.

Incorporating these hip hinge movements while doing daily tasks may help decrease the likelihood of experiencing an episode of lower back pain or if you are currently in pain may help reduce the severity.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out via email at kyle@kelownachiro.ca and I hope to see you all again soon!

Kyle
